Meet Our Staff

Mark Kaifer, Esq. graduated cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2002 and joined the Goodell DeVries law firm as a litigation associate from 2002-2007.  Mark left the Goodell DeVries firm on good terms in 2007 to join and continue KIG into a second generation.  Mark became KIG’s Principal in 2013.  Mark’s diverse background, education and experience provides KIG’s clients with unparalleled personal and commercial insurance direction, advice and service.

Mark resides in Perry Hall with his wife Heather and their two children, Drew and Lilly and their dog, Rocky.

Professional Experience:
Principal – The Kaifer Insurance Group (2013-current).
Oversees and manages all aspect of the agency’s service and sales operation.

Producer – The Kaifer Insurance Group (2007-2013).
Responsibilities included production, retention and service.

Associate – Goodell DeVries (2002-2007).
Represented Fortune 500 clients in national and local complex tort, product liability, pharmaceutical liability, medical device, and toxic tort litigation. Was responsible for all aspects of civil litigation including discovery, trial counsel and post-trial proceedings.

Patrick Kaifer is the General Manager at KIG and oversees the agency’s Personal Lines sales division. Patrick has been working at the agency since 2010, became a licensed agent in 2013 and graduated from the York College of Pennsylvania in 2015 with a degree in Business Administration. Patrick is proud to be a part of the family business and provides a high level of personalized service to KIG’s clients. Patrick also manages the agency’s IT operation and is responsible for the agency’s quite impressive fish tank.

Patrick enjoys spending time with his family and friends, working on cars and when it’s cold enough, snowboarding. “Go Hall”

Dottie – a former Erie Insurance Customer Service Agent of The Year – brings her wealth of experience to KIG and our insureds each and every day.  Dottie co-manages the KIG day-to-day Commercial Operation and she remains committed to deeply personalized service in all product lines.  Dottie also created and runs Chemo Comfies – a non-profit organization that makes fleece blankets for cancer patients and she serves on the Help for Oncology Problems and Emotional Support (H.O.P.E.)’s Board of Directors.  Dottie has P&C and L&H licenses in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and D.C. and she resides in Stewartstown with her husband Dominic and their dog, Millie.

Debbie joined the Kaifer Insurance Group in September 2012.  She is lifetime resident of Baltimore County and she attended the Community College of Baltimore County before beginning her career in the insurance industry in October of 2001. Debbie holds a license in Property and Casualty, Life and Health and she obtained her CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative) designation in 2003.  She enjoys working closely with KIG’s clients to provide excellent personal customer service.  Deb remains an elite and legendary front lines service provider.  

 In her free time she enjoys the beach, reading, and most of all spending time with her 8 grandchildren. 

Heather, a graduate of the University of Virginia (B.A., Environmental Sciences & Mathematics) and the University of Baltimore School of Law (J.D., Summa Cum Laude), spent over a decade as a civil defense litigation associate at the Goodell DeVries law firm defending toxic and complex tort cases before leaving the law firm in 2013 to be a homemaker.  Heather is now back in the workforce at KIG where she will focus on both the business side of our operations and our customer service teams.

Jan joined KIG after her 30 year career working at Erie Insurance as a Senior Commercial Underwriter.  Jan holds her AU (Associate in Commercial Underwriting) designation and she supports our Commercial Operations team.  Jan resides in Erie, Pa with her husband Mike and 5 Grandchildren and she volunteers both at the VA Hospital and her local church.

A 1961 graduate of Calvert Hall College, Tim worked for Penn Central from 1961 to 1968 while also joining the U S Naval Reserve where he was Honorably Discharged in 1968. Tim left the railroad and graduated from the University of Baltimore in 1970.  Tim then worked in Travelers Insurance’s life sales division until 1974.  In 1974 Tim founded The Kaifer Insurance Group and for the past FIVE decades he and his wife Jackie have set a gold standard for personalized insurance service and counsel in all lines of business. 

Tim and Jackie enjoy golfing and vacationing.

Jackie has been at KIG for over 4 decades as an Office Manager and she continues to assist in all aspects of our Personal Lines Operation.
